Heating systems
The reason the company has the name it has. Cast iron sectionals, firetubes, watertubes, steam and hot water, condensing and copper-fin, from a basement in Lakewood to a 52-million-BTU firetube you could park a truck inside. It comes out in pieces, and the room is clean when it's gone.

How it goes
Nameplate, sections or horsepower, the door it has to fit through, the stairs it has to climb. Residential and small commercial can usually be ranged by phone; everything else gets a walk.
Floor protection down, hot-work permit posted, fire watch assigned, the path to the truck cleared.
Cast iron comes apart section by section; a 17-section boiler and its piping is a one-day job for us. Firetubes get cut into pieces sized for the path out. Burners, controls and flue come off first.
Sections and cut pieces go out on skates, dollies or a winch, into the truck, to the yard. The pad and floor are swept before we leave.

Recent work
Two 4M BTU firetube boilers, six expansion tanks, a heat exchanger and the mechanical-room piping cut at the agreed termination points. Sectioned, rigged through existing building paths and hauled, sequenced cleanly around the project's active abatement. Turned over to district standard.

A residential boiler or water heater is a day. A single accessible commercial boiler is one to two days. Two large firetubes with their tanks and piping ran three days on a recent school job. The proposal gives you a real number after the walk.
If it went in before the mid-1980s, assume the insulation, gaskets or pipe wrap might. Asbestos abatement is licensed work in Colorado and we don't do it. When it's present or suspected, a licensed abatement contractor clears it first, we coordinate schedules with them regularly, and then we take the boiler out. If we find suspect material mid-job we stop in that area and call you.
Cast iron and steel go to the yard. The scrap value is already credited against your price, which is one reason the number is what it is. If your organization needs to keep the salvage, tell us before we bid and the job is priced accordingly.
